Taizhou State-owned Pigments Plant, from which Hongment orginates, was established in 1988, supplying chrome and azo pigments to paint manufacturers in local area In 1995, Taizhou Plant collaborated with Shanghai Institute of Chemistry Studies for the enhancement of organic pigments by the standards of Japanese technologies Taizhou Plant started to supply to a few trading houses for overseas markets in 1996; the output value reached over RMB60,000,000 in the same year Hongment Colors Limited was jointly established in 1996 by a group of chemical experts, and turned out to be a fast-growing supplier of colorants in overseas markets Hongment Colors incorporated Taizhou Plant in 1999 by purchasing 51% of its equities and changed its name to "Changzhou Dragon World Pigment and Chemicals Co. Ltd.", and thus emerged as a leading manufacturer & supplier, covering both domestic and overseas markets In 2000, Hongment Color started to develop fluorescent pigments by cooperation with chemists with background of USA colorant industry & extensive experience in fluorescent technologies In 2001, Hongment Colors cooperated with Sunway Co. Ltd. -- one of the major manufacturers of solvent dyes in China -- and set up a joint venture in Zhejiang province to produce a wide range of solvent dyes In 2003, Hongment Colors collaborated with American experts and started to produce pre-dispersed pigments, including nitrocellulose pigmented chips and flushed pigments The export value of Hongment Colors reached USD8,800,000 in 2004 |
